The Borderline is gone now, although hung on a little longer than most of the old venues. It was a curious little place, where people could get Mexican food if they wanted, although I don’t ever recall seeing people do so. It also had a very wide musical policy, but was spot on with most of the real talent it attracted. You could usually point to something each week that was a really interesting gig, so whoever was booking there was on top of their game., as though it was the anti-Rock Garden.
Sunshot gave a glorious performance that night, but then that was their purpose.
