One album, and a series of singles on Creation, marked what was a strange journey for these lads with the Bull & Gate in their past. Gem had been stage manager there under Jon Beast (R.I.P.) while also playing in The Contenders. Bassist Nez and guitarist Pete were from 2 Lost Sons, also B&G regulars. Gem went on to a short-lived Whirlpool, while 2 Lost Sons’ time on Savage Records never worked out the way it should. Then they all came together for this, going great guns, and ending up supporting Oasis. Gem then joined that band and the rest is hysteria. Interestingly, if you’d asked anyone at the Bull & Gate from the late 80’s and early 90’s who they expected to genuinely get somewhere with their music they would have said Gem. He just had that rare quality about him. Also a lovely bloke. So sometimes the good guys do win!
