I never really knew what to make of Lovecraft. The reason for seeing them was because Cleo (ex-The March Violets) was involved, but then there was the shock that it was fairly orthodox rock.
They gigged a lot in 1993. I ended up seeing them three times, and only once by design, so they were pretty active that year, including releasing two EPs. Interestingly the first one, ‘Hungry’, shows song writing credits for Marsh and Barker from Flesh For Lulu.
Overall though the impression was, ‘well, they’re okay, but…’
