No online evidence exists of THE BUTTERFLIES so you’ll have to take my word for it that a) something approximating Sonic Youth in Hell made for a very fine sound and b) Danya was a dynamic performer. Sadly, there were simply far too many line-up changes and they slowed down over time to quite a sludgy sound, whereupon the energy dissipated. For a while though they were a striking, exciting band. Here we find them playing to a busy Falcon, with some great crowd shots (genial Daisy Chainsaw roadie Fuzz churning away in the background there!) Maybe one day someone will upload those ‘Give Head To The World’ demos? I think I probably still have a copy, so maybe one day I will work out how to do that.
It would appear I also have a live tape!
