Another one of those bands with no internet footprint, THE BUTTERFLIES were a wild, rowdy bunch spearheaded by the flaming Danya. Imagine a feral Sonic Youth and you’d be close to their incendiary post-punk charm. After a while the energy dimmed and they made a more sluggish pulsing sound which didn’t work as well. There were also too many line-up changes for any real consistency (Stuart from The Wigs can be seen on bass here, and he quickly left protesting he found Danya too much hard work to be around) so everything fizzled out, but for a couple of years they had all the promise in the world.
