ON THIS DAY ... in 1990/91 - DESTROY THE BOY
Two gigs - Bull & Gate and Powerhaus - exactly one year apart (99 photos)
Another of my favourite live bands from the Bull & Gate era, DESTROY THE BOY also echo what I said about Vicious Kiss the other day. If only they’d kept going with their direct, dynamic songs they’d have gone on to do well through NWONW and Britpop. Instead they tried the indie dance route, then began the law of diminishing returns through becoming The Carmines and finally Honey Rider. A shame as they were a great live band (with the unusual benefit of a singer that could actually dance!) and had a knack of writing short, memorable songs.
