They were on top form this night, but here was a band just before their time, with punkish hard pop songs. If they could have hung on another couple of years they’d have been up there with the best of the New Wave Of New Wave bunch, which would have then carried them along on the Britpop wave. As it was they clearly felt they were banging their heads against a brick wall and they turned weirder, as Walk On Water. I’ve always been a sucker for noisy sharp melodic attack so I much preferred Vicious Kiss.

No online evidence remains, so maybe it’s time Simon did a bandcamp page as they had a lot of good demos.
