GOTH credentials ahoy! Bassist Jake ran Artificial Life the biggest Goth fanzine the UK had back in the 1980’s, and he was also All About Eve’s first manager. There’s an extensive interview with him in my Gothic Rock book. Turbo & The Rockets were more of a post-post-punk band like a less clunky, more orgaic Big Audio Dynamite affair, with some really good songs, but there were no record releases and nothing has ever surfaced online despite them circulating several excellent demos. This was a bizarre gig they blagged, supported lightweight dance thing Candy Flip. They only did it for a laugh, and about twenty of their mates turned up, which looks pretty weird in a building used to holding over a thousand.
