ON THIS DAY ... in 1989 - G.T. Jesus and The Crawling Asylum and Das Tor
34 photos from the Bull & Gate, April 26th 1989
G.T JESUS & CRAWLING ASYLUM were unexpected visitors. a glorious psyche rock band from America (like an earthier Crazyhead), who’d obviously approached Jon Beast (R.I.P.) while staying in London as they were travelling round Europe and Jon would have fitted them in to suit their requirements. I chatted with one of them in the bar and he said they were squatting in Hampstead so it was obviously an adventure for them. He also graciously put up with me as I was totally pissed and ranting. Of course he might simply have thought we were all like that, in which case he wouldn’t exactly have been wrong. DAS TOR were similar musically, so it was a good bill, fronted by Rob Moles (R.I.P.) former leader of the almost mythical The Aemotii Crii.
