So you have indiefunkindustrialists Fini Tribe (yes, home to Chris Connelly), melodic maverick Maryen and crew, then the riotous sounds of The Wood Children who were great, but gigs often clashed back then and I only saw them a few times, and never got any decent shots.

In the shots that follow it’s more about the venue than the bands as the decoration of Hype continued and I got shots of some Jon Beast (R.I.P.) flourishing touches, but you can see Steve Lamacq being DJ for the night, Icebox Julian as host, Jonathon Trevisick waiting to hand out flyers, Abbo from Big Cat Records, writer Paul O’Reilly (R.I.P.), members of WAGTEY, Kitsch, The Wish and Mute Drivers.
