SPECIMEN - DISCOGS

Nearing the end then for Specimen, a band that never got the recognition for their music that they deserved, although if you pick up one of the compilations available you’ll soon realise how varied and interesting they were. Weirdly, they seemed to pick up a frivolous reputation, even though they started the Batcave, the best known Goth club of its (and any subsequent) era, while people behind Punk clubs were feted for their contributions. They carried on gigging for a couple of months after this session before calling it a day and Olli (R.I.P.) tried again Stateside.

My Goth photobooks on Alien Sex Fiend, All About Eve, Ausgang, Bauhaus, Beast, Christian Death, Creaming Jesus, The Damned, The Dancing Did, Flesh For Lulu, Gitane Demone, Gun Club (with Patricia Morrison), Junior Manson Slags, Marc Almond, Rosetta Stone, Sex Gang Children, Specimen, Toyah, UK Decay and Virgin Prunes can be found here » PHOTOBOOKS LIST
