Well here’s an unusual band. After their punk chaos of The Cravats, they delved deep into a psychedelic goth meltdown circa “The Bushes Scream While My Daddy Prunes”, erupting anew as an effulgent soul express with “Motortown” and then last year (as Very Thing GXL) Robin ushered them back into the welcoming light with a magnificent new album, “Mr. Arc Eye (Under A Cellophane Sky)”, like a glorious post-punk cross between the Motortown/Cravats DCL. So a band with many phases, a bit like the moon, unless I have that wrong. I never claimed to be an astronomer.
