MO-DETTES were a fantastic post-punk band who sadly only managed one album, and a string of great singles. Sadly, as I’ve mentioned before, film was cripplingly expensive back then and I always put going to gigs before photo costs, so while I saw them over ten times I only have photos from this gig. They were superb live, a bunch of characters (especially Jane, coolest bassist in town) swaying and soaring through a wild mixture of songs. Most people know ‘White Mice’ or their ‘Paint It Black’ cover, but I think the song that captures their spirit best is the glorious ‘Dark Park Creeping’. We needed more bands like this.
Tomorrow I bring you 36 photos of Vicious Kiss at the Bull & Gate in 1991.
